Approximately 600 Klamath County workers serve a population of 70.000 over a region larger than many states featuring extremely rugged terrain. Employees rely on e-mail and online tools to serve constituents.

Legacy e-mail system occupied staff resources that the department could more productively use elsewhere. At the same time, the county’s server-based system did not deliver on reliability requirements.

Klamath implemented the Microsoft Office 365 cloud solution to provision e-mail on Exchange Online. It also deployed productivity applications, including SharePoint Online and Office Web apps.
